dreamy spaces

it's ridiculous how much i have been obsessing over a teeny tiny 30 sq ft space.

i can probably only fit a small mattress and some cool lighting in there,

but for some reason my mind is spinning with possibilities.

i have been collecting images from around the internet and i'm not gonna lie,

i kind of wish we had a larger space for her, but we love our house

and don't have plans to move anytime soon, so we will have to work with what we have.

even if it is only 30 square feet. i still think it can be fabulous, right?!

anyways, the wallpaper came down over the weekend

and i've already got some paint swatches up on the wall.

i'm planning to stick with a mellow color palette,

keep the mattress low to the ground, add some different levels of lighting

and work with a variety of textures.

my husband assures me he can build a simple platform bed.

i have already chosen the wall color and i think i'm going to style her bed

like a day bed with lots of pillows and maybe some bright white bedding.

i still need to figure out what to do with the nook...hmmm.

i'm going to try and get the bones done this weekend so i can start with the textiles

and decor next week. super fun project. fingers crossed it turns out as well as i hope.

3 day weekend

we have lots of work and lots of fun planned for a nice looong weekend.

someone got a new mini sandbox last week and i can't keep her out of it

she's mostly throwing sand right now, but she'll get the hang of it.

we also have a big project in the works.

transforming my walk in closet to a special little bedroom for a special little girl

our house has 2 bedrooms. the master is on the top floor and the spare is 2 floors down

WAAAY to far away for my sweetheart. up til now she has been snuggling in the big bed,

but i want to start creating a new space for her to call her own

and transition her into it over the next couple months

the first step was getting all the clothes out (and now i have to figure out where to put em)

next step is demo of the shelves and rods and taking down that awful wallpaper

(what was i thinking!?)

supposedly we can score it and squirt it with hot water and fabric softener

and it should peel right off. fingers crossed it's as easy as it sounds

i found a toddler mattress at IKEA that should fit perfectly in one direction

and i am still trying to figure out what to do with the nook.

i think there's a lot of potential here and i already have a color scheme in mind

i just wish i could fast forward to the fun part.
