these shots were taken in the bridal suite before the ceremony
i worked with emily merill (see her wedding site here)
she was SO amazing to work with, the perfect energy amidst all the hubbub
she captured our day so perfectly, thank heavens!
it all went by so fast, i barely remember it

i made flagged hearts as place cards for the guests at the wedding
i used heart shaped notecards from papersource
and cut flags from an ordinary manilla folder
i started by cutting a long wavy line along the length of the folder.
snipped the flags to length and notched out the ends.
i wrote the names with a superfine sharpie
and used a glue stick to attach em.

pat and i took some shots with these 2 beautiful horses
Aries and Knight Train ... they belong to my step mom sandy
and are 2 of five that currently live in the stables
...it was so much fun to have them as part of the wedding...
♡
sandy wrote up some information on them.
i thought i would be fun to share a little bit about their personalities :)
ARIES:
Aries is a buckskin Quarter Horse mare. 21 years old with energy to spare.
She is the alpha mare in the group and has enormous heart and soul.
She has a depth and understanding that is hard to explain
and is emotionally attached to her herd. She loves to be photographed
and is the undisputable queen of the barn.
She is ridden Western and English and has been in the family for 12 years.
KNIGHT TRAIN
KT, as he is fondly called, is a double registered Rocky Mountain and
Kentucky Mountain horse. He is large at 16 hands and recently turned 11.
KT is the best "ride" of all the horses. He is calm but exciting on the trail
and is part of an intelligent breed of horse. He is without a doubt "in charge"
when all the horses are turned out together. They acknowledge his leadership
and dominance and it is usually enforced by the flick of his ear.
He is truly the "gentle leader". He has been in our family for 8-1/2 years.
i made some floral garlands for them and they turned out gorgeous.
i will tell you more about em when i get the professional shots
back from the photographer....they looked stunning!
it was so special to have them as part of our day.
they were SO SO well behaved during photos.
i think they could feel the love :)

we were married in the pasture with a rose petal scattered aisle and
we had the most darling officiant. check out her cowboy boots :) love it!
anyways, a few people have asked about seeing photos.
so far, i only have a couple snapped by guests on their phone,
but i hope to have the professional images in the next couple of weeks.
here is one that a dear friend took as we walked out to cat stevens.
unfortunately since i was confined to my bridal suite after everything was set up
i was unable to shoot any of my own...so i am anxiously awaiting photos too:)
hopefully we can see more soon!

i suppose it makes sense to finish out the day with another song.
my dad and i danced to this one.
i noticed a bunch of people singing along from their seats.
dad was also singing his own (slightly out of tune) rendition
i remember he would play this kind of stuff on
the guitar for us when we were growing up
it was tricky to dance to, but i loved it.
i think he did too.

...we walked out to cat stevens...
i had "if you want to sing out sing out" engraved on an ipod i gave to pat
years ago and he said this song always reminds him of me :)
plus we love love love harold and maude
they blasted it for the recession.
such a sweet note to begin our marriage on.

perhaps i should have started at the beginning:)
this was our procession song and it worked out perfectly.
we had 3 sets of parents and 3 bridesmaids.
their walk time was about 1 minute and then
my dad and i walked for about a minute.
it's an acoustic version of the theme song from
so so pretty!

as you might know, pat and i got engaged in maui.
they showed a bio of IZ on the plane ride
i was wracking my brain for the perfect song to share our first dance.
...when i remembered his most lovely rendition of over the rainbow...
we were introduced as Mr and Mrs and entered the reception
under the rainbow of ribbons, enjoyed dinner and a few toasts
and swayed to this gorgeous version of over the rainbow.
i have to say it was slightly awkward being gawked at by 100 of our
closest friends and family while we turned in circles on the dance floor,
but it is a moment we will never forget.

the wedding was nothing short of spectacular.
it's going to take me awhile to wrap my brain around all of it's fabulousness.
i can honestly say it was the best night of my life!
i snapped these pics during set up. i must have tied ribbons for 4 hours
but it was worth it!
i'll share some more images as i get my mits on them.
thank you for all of your congratulations and well wishes.
after a very trying couple months leading up to the big day,
i have to say that everything was absolute perfection.
more than i could have ever dreamed!
