bright idea

i have been wanting to write a DIY book for quite sometime and

now that Emily Valentine is here, i have little to no time to

get out to the tiny house and make a mess and so i thought it would be

the perfect time to start putting some project ideas down on paper

i would like to put together a collection of tutorials so that you can

make your own pretty little things

i will probably start by offering them in a downloadable format

so it will be easily accessible to everyone.

what i'm wondering is:

is this something you would be interested in?

and what type of projects would you like to see?

i am definitely thinking something 'kid friendly'

either things you can make FOR your kids or WITH your kids

...

please tell me if you have any specific ideas in mind.

i ahve already started brainstorming and have about 3 pages of possibilties.

i just want to make sure i'm headed in the right direction

golden egg cup

i whipped up a trio of tiny trinket cups from an ordinary cardboard egg carton

i just trimmed around the individual cups

slathered on a couple coats of acrylic paint and a coat of glossy sealer

i think they turned out pretty cute.

 just the right size for a ring and a pair of studs.

i wanted to post a  quick how-to about bundling

the bramble berries to accommodate a thicker head of hair.

here's what they look like individually

and this is how they look after they're joined together

here's how i got there

start by placing the berries one on top of the other

(i placed the yellow berry over the blue berry)

feed the yellow berry under and through the yellow band

when you pull the berries away from one another

you will begin to see how they tangle together

tighten the tangle by pulling them further apart

to create something that looks like this

now you can secure your pony tail

by feeding one berry through the elastic band

to create a larger stronger loop

makes for a berry happy pony indeed
