pretty little things

packed and ready to go

i've got my hospital bag packed and waiting by the door.

thought i'd share a list of what i plan to bring and see if you might have anything to add.

 

for labor:

unscented lotion, coconut oil, rose water spray, water bottle spritzer

raffia fan, chewing gum, playlist, tennis ball, yoga ball and yoga mat

2 pillows: one to sleep with and one to help prop me during labor

 

to wear:

lightweight robe, jammy bottoms, night shirt, nursing bra

flip flops for the shower, 2 pairs of socks

tunic top and maxi skirt to wear home

 

toiletries:

toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, bar of soap, lip gloss, mascara

 

for baby:

2 blankies (one to bring home for matilda to sniff before baby comes home)

plain gerber white onsie and wrap shirt, hat, knit pants, socks

 

i'm trying to pack light so we don't have to bring a ton of stuff

i think i've covered all my bases, but if you have any suggestions

i'd love to hear, so please share

well, my due date has come and gone and still no baby,

but there is some progress so i am hopeful she will be here in the next week

in the meantime, i have been keeping myself busy with some more baby projects.

i started a new dress the night before last and am almost finished with the embroidery.

the flowers still need their center knots and i will probably add a few small embellishments

to the skirt as well, but so far i am in love :)

blown away

passed by the local fabric store on the way to my doctor appointment this morning

and was BLOWN AWAY by their window display.

...dozens of hand cut flowers and butterflies...

wouldn't it be amazing to do this on a bedroom window? facing in of course

i think it would be perfect in a nursery or little girls' room.

flowy gowns and flowery robes

time to start thinking about postpartum attire

i figure i'll probably be living in flowy nightgowns and flowery robes

for the first few weeks as i get used to a new routine.

so i was so happy to stumble upon this etsy shop filled with kimonos and kaftans

the pattern is beautifully made so there's no weird gaping or gapping. it literally fits like a glove.

in fact i have already ordered a second one since i know it will be perfect

for nursing as well as 'entertaining' baby visitors (since it's so darn pretty)

...anyways...

i have just completed 40 week so my little girl will be here any day now.

almost impossible to imagine, but very very exciting :)
