i got a box of goodies in the mail today!

including a handful of shimmering trims to play with

i also finished a small gang of dolls that need to be dressed.

looks like tomorrow's gonna be one of those extra fun days :)

pretty palette

i am currently loving the soft palette from this beautiful floral wallpaper.

i've been busy making over the tiny house, sorting and purging,

organizing and painting to create a nice clean space for the new year

i got new paint last week and have been working on one wall at a time. 

it's taking 3 coats to cover the daydream green i painted

a few years back, but everything is looking amazing 

and i hope to have it finished by the end of the week.

i have also been soaking up inspiration for my next collection.

i hope to have lots of new stuff to share very soon.

...inspiration for my next collection...

the holidays are fast approaching and before we know it, it will be 2012.

i've been dreaming up some new ideas for next season's designs

i have a huge batch of fabric on it's way and i can't wait to play!

these are going to have to wait until next season

since i have been too busy putting together last minute

wholesale orders to finish em in time for christmas

but i think they'll be worth the wait :)

prickly little things

...working on some new prickly pear pin cushions...

i love these guys! so i think it's time to make a new batch.

gonna go dig through my fabric stash for green prints.

i'll let you know when they're ready:)

loving these glittered gourds

we carved our pumpkins last week and

they were completely rotten 2 days later.

i didn't even get around to carving a mouth on mine.

i don't remember this one rotting so quickly

(maybe the white ones last longer ?)

...anyways...

i think i'll have to try something a little different next year

see if i can get more life out of em.

pajaki

my plan to think happy thoughts has gone quite well.

i have had a very productive couple of days and i feel my head starting to clear.

i thought it would be nice to end the week with some colorful pajaki

if you are not already familiar with these amazing creations.

the literal translation is 'spiders of straw'

they are delicate mobiles hand made by the women and girls

of the villages in Poland as decorations for their home.

i feel a new obsession coming on!

thank you for all your sweet thoughts and messages these past few days. the sadness comes in waves, but i am feeling much better as the days go by. we are attending a family wedding this weekend which i am very much looking forward to. the circle of life is both difficult and delightful.

Bella's Birthday

photographer Wendy Updegraff contacted me about a month ago

after purchasing one of my shimmering feather crowns and asked

if she could use the motif as inspiration for her daughter Bella's birthday party.

they planned to make rainsticks, roast marshmallows and sleep over in teepees.

it's THE best party i've EVER seen!

and Bella is the luckiest girl around to have such a cool mom.

yes, i am still obsessed with days beds. 

i can't tell you how badly i want one, but sadly, i have nowhere to keep it.

i am also obsessed with this amazing pile of bohemian embroidered pillows.

and i can't think of a prettier place to keep them

this room is the perfect example of how a little color can set the mood

i have created designs inspired by this same idea.

it's amazing how a tiny pop of color can lend

a unique sense of charm to your favorite space
