pretty palette

i am currently loving the soft palette from this beautiful floral wallpaper.

...

i've been busy making over the tiny house, sorting and purging,

organizing and painting to create a nice clean space for the new year

i got new paint last week and have been working on one wall at a time. 

it's taking 3 coats to cover the daydream green i painted

a few years back, but everything is looking amazing 

and i hope to have it finished by the end of the week.

...

i have also been soaking up inspiration for my next collection.

i hope to have lots of new stuff to share very soon.

i love this simple idea for adding color to an ordinary box .

it's time for me to 'officially' take a little blog break for the holidays.

i have lots of last minute shopping to do and a bunch of gifties to wrap.

i will be back soon with some sneak peeks of my next collection

for now, i am really looking forward to spending some quality time

with family and friends and cannot wait for the new year.

catching up and falling behind

our internet has been spotty for the last few days

which is one of the reasons i've fallen behind on blog posts

i have also been catching up on bunches and bunches of holiday orders.

...

we haven't even had a chance to get a tree this year,

but if we did, i would hope it could look as fanciful

as this beauty from yvestown. it's the sweetest tree i've ever seen!

the basket, the baubles the clear lights. in LOVE!!

we always have a bit of a battle over here about clear vs color

i grew up with clear and he grew up with color.

i still prefer clear. what do you think?

anyways

i am hoping to get my internet back up

and running by the end of this week.

in the meantime i'm busy dreaming up

a new collection for the new year.

1200 stitches + 900 petals + a whole bunch of leaves

equals a big ol' batch of brand new daisy chains

i haven't had time to shoot them for the shop yet

but i should have them ready to go sometime this weekend

perfect for stuffing your stockings !

i have whipped up another dozen clutches for the final christmas crunch.

i can't seem to find them for sale anywhere online,

but i found these lovely images over here

blanket season

tis the season for cozy blankets

heaps and heaps of them ... in all sorts of colors and patterns

i am especially loving the southwestern styles these days.

i wish i had a coulple of these heaps for myself!

i stumbled upon this awesome exhibit called Blanket Stories 

with a beautiful write up about the meaning of blankets throughout our lives

"We are received in blankets, and we leave in blankets.

The work in these rooms is inspired by the stories

of those beginnings and endings, and the life in between."

i have made a number of blankets over the years

all of which have become super soft and worn and even more cozy with age

i think they make a fabulous gift and are so easy to make.

they can be as simple and two pieces of fabric sewn around the edge

or as fancy as a carefully pieced quilt made from dozens of colorful scraps.

come to think of it, i may just have to make a couple new blankets this season

...i'm pretty sure that you can never have too many...

especially when you've got a little bulldog to share them with

...inspiration for my next collection...

the holidays are fast approaching and before we know it, it will be 2012.

i've been dreaming up some new ideas for next season's designs

i have a huge batch of fabric on it's way and i can't wait to play!

these are going to have to wait until next season

since i have been too busy putting together last minute

wholesale orders to finish em in time for christmas

but i think they'll be worth the wait :)
