matilda and i are planning to go to my mom's this afternoon for salmon, green beans and mashed potatoes. we did the turkey thing last year and it didn't turn out quite as we had hoped so we opted for an old time favorite instead.

we will stuff ourselves silly, drink red wine, play scrabble, paint fingernails, take matilda for a late night stroll through the neighborhood and then scarf down a gigantic slice of pumpkin pie before crawling under the covers.

sounds like heaven:)
