pretty little things

in full bloom

we spent saturday in the garden...enjoying the pretty of spring.

everything is either in bloom or ready to burst!

the jasmine vine over the front door is starting to

pop open one tiny bundle at a time,

but will probably go CRAZY later on this week.

the camelias, on the other hand, have already gone completely berzerk:)

 

here is the stairway that leads down to the house

the ruby red camelias at the bottom are starting to droop into the pathway.

oh! and look here to see my new yellow daisy tree

i forgot how much i love spring:)

the little prince, an army of passion and a pile of plush

...aside from rebuilding the tiny house...

i have been busy making some new jewelry.

and i am seriously IN LOVE with the new danglers.

they are like a garden of stars to wear around your neck

the beads are like dew drops on a spider web.

 

and the stars remind me of the little prince     

i also found some AMAZING vintage japanese flower beads 

they totally remind me of my passion flower vine.

   

...which i am sad to say did not come back this season...

it gets so gangly during the fall and winter that we decided to cut it back this year and the poor thing never revived :(

anyways, i modeled this necklace after my absolute FAVORITE beaded strand that wraps around 3 times...it's 58" of teeny tiny beads strung one freakin bead at a time and it took forever to make, but i think it was worth it.

and FINALLY here are some of the new kitty kats.

 

they are patiently awaiting their rosettes.

i am completely smitten with their bright colors and ruffley edged collars,

but i think the whiskers are my favorite part.

   

i left them unattached on one end so they are free to roam

(as whiskers should be)

i probably should have straightened them out on her pretty little face before taking the the shot, but she was having a cat nap.

speaking of cat naps...i think i hear the couch calling

i promise i won't be so scarce next week and i will have more to show you for the next update

ray of sunshine

this post is a little out of character, but very inspiring.

i went to high school with peter and rebecca. peter was one year behind me (in my sister's class) and rebecca was a year or 2 younger. the school is very small and so everybody pretty much knows everybody...

i remember i sang in chorus with peter :) 

anyways, now he is a correspondent for the today show and recently did a story about his sister's courageous battle with usher syndrome.
