i have this thing about arranging and rearranging the shelves in my kitchen.

well,it's really any-shelf any-where, but yesterday it was the kitchen.

 

i like to collect floral tins, mugs and bowls.

 

i have also recently started collecting S&P shakers and it seems i am addicted!

see the little kissers perched on a frog prince tin of hot chocolate?

 

and the pink birds? they are dangling from their tails:)

i also have a thing for B&W text...as you can see from my french menu bowls and tea tins...and i have a gang of mugs from cafe du monde and a couple other places that are just plain white with black text...so you can see why i feel the need to switch things out all the time, but i think i like this arrangment for now.

so i guess i should get started redoing the shelves in the tiny house...again!

happy accidents

it is purely coincidence that this fabric story

looks like it was pulled directly from yesterday's post.

          

as you know, i was already working with pom poms. i stumbled upon THE MOST fantastic velveteen stripe yesterday on a local fabric hunt, the solids are lining fabrics for some new totes and you can see a tiny snippit of something new in the upper right hand corner...oh and the ruffle at the hem of my shirt peeking in at the bottom.

anyways, i know i said i would try to have the casitas in the shop this week, but i have been so distracted with new ideas that i have not had any time to shoot them....i'll try again for next week.

it's torture knowing that i have a heap of things to finish before i can start to play with new stuff....but i guess it's nice to have something to look forward to:)

i've spent the entire morning crouched next to the sliding glass door in my tiny house arranging these big beautiful bouquets to compliment some new designs i have been working on.

so many bloomin ideas lately...i can hardly keep up!

i recently came across this vintage travel book on etsy.

 

i fell in love with the colors and text-book quality of the artwork.

not to mention...it is the PERFECT compliment to my new row of casitas!

which have been inspired by a combination of this and this and these.

they will be on my shop next week with some other goodies:)

i know we're still a couple months away from spring,  

but as raindrops are falling...

...i notice spring fashions are starting to pop up...

 

makes me want to layer a whole bunch of colors and patterns

paired with some funky flats

and a comfy pair of jeans.

good vibrations.

as you probably know, i have a thing for color.

 

something about the way the tones combine and take on different vibrations according to their pairing and placement. 

 

i have spent a long time building my palette from an assortment of carefully selected prints, tones and textures....i can spend hours moving teeny tiny pieces a smidge over here and a scoch over there until i have everything just right....you might think i'm crazy!!

but a good kind of crazy...i hope:)
