i got some pretties for myself, including this card by raymond peynet.
take a peak in the boutique to see more charming pieces like these
...a love diploma and a flying fish...
anyways, it's a rainy mroning and i am all snuggled into the tiny house with my space heater and a hot cup o' joe. i'm gettin ready to start the daydreamer frocks. poor little cuties have been without any clothes for over a week now. yikes!
i came across my portfolios from fashion school last night.
the glue has ruined most of my sketches, but luckily this mood board made it!
i used this as inpiration to create a collection of sheer ruffley blouses with pin tuck details...one of my models made it.
well, sort of...you can see the glue seeping through.
i also found a pile of old handbag patterns from my job as a patternmaker.
i worked for a small company in berkeley with in house production (everything was made right there...on the spot). i was responsible for all the designs and patterns. i worked directly with the sew-ers to take the first sample through production. it was a great experience and i really miss working with leather. i cut patterns from huge hides stored in the factory and then got to use all sorts of cool machines...like band splitters and skivers and straight edge folders to prepare the bags for sewing.
anyways, i think it's fun to stumble upon stuff like this so i thought i'd share.
