kantha quilts

i have been wanting a kantha quilt for about a year now,

but hadn't been able to find the right one at the right price.

 ...until today...

Zulily featured a company called Modelli Creations

that offered 375(!) one of a kind quilts for over 50% off!

it was hard to pick a favorite and i wish i could afford like a dozen

but i ended up getting this one for Emily.

if you aren't familiar with Zulily. it's one of those websites that offers limited time sales

honestly i think most of their stuff is pretty frumpy,

but every once in awhile i find a MAJOR score

and i think it's fun to scroll through to find the treasures

which is why i was so stoked to come across these quilts this morning.

tummy time

i'm pretty sure i'm posting too many baby photos here on the blog

and am probably boring some of you, but she is my life right now.

i have been having a TON of ideas lately and i hope to find time to work on new designs soon,

but right now Emily's naps just aren't long enough to get anything done 

and i am usually trying to catch a wink myself when she dozes.

anyways, she is 47 days old today and we have been practicing tummy time this week.

...pretty exciting stuff...

announcements

finally ordered Emily's birth announcements.

...i really love the way the turned out...

now i just have to be patient for the next week or so til they get here.

golden egg cup

i whipped up a trio of tiny trinket cups from an ordinary cardboard egg carton

i just trimmed around the individual cups

slathered on a couple coats of acrylic paint and a coat of glossy sealer

i think they turned out pretty cute.

 just the right size for a ring and a pair of studs.

mommy bliss

it still totally blows my mind that i grew this little person inside my body

and now she's here living with us and growing like a weed!

i love her beyond measure and can't wait to watch her blossom into a beautiful young lady.
